What to Expect

Your first visit

Your first visit is designed for our practitioners to learn about you, your condition, and to determine what treatment path will be the most beneficial for you. You will be welcomed by our receptionist, who will ask you to fill out some initial paperwork. You can download an Intake form by clicking here if you would like to do this ahead of time. These forms help provide us with general information about your health and the objectives you are looking to achieve.

Generally, your initial consultation is with one of our Chiropractors. If you are seeking treatment specifically from another provider, please indicate this when you are booking your appointment.

After your consultation, you will be given a thorough examination, testing your reflexes, as well as your ability to bend and turn. Other standard neurologic, orthopaedic, postural, and physical examinations will be performed. Nothing will be performed at BC Back Institute without your consent.

Report of Findings

Once all the information is gathered, our practitioners will provide you with a Report of Findings to answer the three most popular questions:

  • Can you help me?
  • What are your professional recommendations?
  • How much is it going to cost?

After discussing your history and goals, examining your spine and your tests, our team of practitioners will discuss recommendations with you. This may include one type of treatment, or several. It will be designed with your optimal health and overall wellness in mind. Rest assured that although you may be seeing several providers during your visits here, your treatment plan will be carefully guided and you will be reassessed at specified points to gauge your progress.

Spinal Decompression Consultation

Many patients suffering from chronic, long-term pain have endured the frustrating experience of going from one therapist to another. At the BC Back Institute, our unique team approach to treating pain and its root causes means that you'll be evaluated and treated by a multidisciplinary group of experienced professionals with one goal in mind: getting you back to a pain-free life. Spinal decompression is a non-invasive, non- surgical alternative treatment for lower back pain and neck pain. If you are considering surgery, this may be another option for you. Spinal Decompression uses a distraction force to relieve the nerve compression often associated with low back pain and sciatica. If you would like to find out if you are a candidate for our Spinal Decompression program, call us to book a consultation.
