What We Do
We are the only clinic in BC to offer the VAX-D spinal decompression system.
Prior to spinal decompression research with VAX-D in 1994, non-surgical decompression options did not exist for patients. Today however, there is an entire industry devoted to spinal decompression devices, all based on developments pioneered by VAX-D.
The spinal decompression industry is so full of misinformation and marketing hype that it is difficult to assess the credibility of many of the devices. We always recommend that patients perform their due diligence before undertaking any type of care. We have attached a ten page and a thirty-six page compilation of research done on the VAX-D Genesis. Most of these studies were conducted by MD's as evidenced by their placement in the Canadian Journal of Clinical Medicine, the Journal of Neurosurgery and the Journal of Neurologic Research. We advise that if you are seriously considering decompression that you take the time to read the research and make an educated choice.
The American College of Physicians & Surgeons and the American Academy of Minimally Invasive Spinal Medicine & Surgery have dedicated an entire chapter in their textbook titled: Practice of Minimally Invasive Spinal Technique, 2005 Edition, to the efficacy of the VAX-D table. They've stated that:
"VAX-D should not be considered traction in the traditional sense but as decompression. VAX-D is the only non-invasive treatment that has been proven to decompress the disc."
